Current Graduate Students

Andrea Milstred, M.S. (4th Year)

Andrea earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2017), and her Master of Science in Psychological Science (2019), from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. She also earned a second master's degree from WVU in 2023 and is currently finishing her dissertation project (An Intersectional Approach to Examining the Impact of Cigarette Taxes on Tobacco Use for Rural Versus Urban Populations). 

Madeline Smith (2nd Year)

Madeline earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Slippery Rock University (2023). She is currently collecting data for her thesis project (Cross-Cue Reactivity of Nicotine and Cannabis Vaping Products).

Jakob Bohland (2nd Year)

Jakob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2023) from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He is currently collecting data for his thesis project (Abuse Liability of Oral Nicotine Pouches in Electronic Cigarette Users). 

Jana Roehr (1st Year)
Jana earned her Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health Science (2021) from Grand Canyon University, and her Master of Science in Psychology (2023) from Abilene Christina University. She is currently planning her thesis project.

Ashley Douglas, Ph.D. (2024)

Ashley completed her thesis (Electronic Cigarette Dependence: User and Device Characteristic Predictors) in 2022 and her dissertation (Cue Reactivity in Non-Smoking Electronic Cigarette Users) in 2024. She is currently a Senior Research Associate at the University of Missouri.

Ilana Haliwa, M.P.H., M.S. (2019)

Ilana

Ilana completed her thesis project (The Role of Flavors in Electronic Cigarette Abuse Liability in Tobacco-Naïve Young Adults) in the fall of 2019. She is now an Assistant Professor at Salve Regina University.

Nicholas Felicione, Ph.D. (2019)

Nick TRS Conference

Nick completed his thesis (Comparison of Methods for Measuring Electronic Cigarette Puff Topography) in 2016 and his dissertation (Short-Term Abstinence Effects in Experienced Electronic Cigarette Users) in 2019. He completed a post-doctoral fellow at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center working with Dr. Rich O'Connor, and is now an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health at the University of Buffalo.

Jenny Ozga, Ph.D. (2019)

Jenny

Jenny graduated from the Behavior Analysis program under the direction of Dr. Karen Anderson, and was an affiliate member of our laboratory during her tenure in the program. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry working with Dr. Robin Pollini. Currently, Jenny is a /Senior Research Associate within the Tobacco Studies Sector of the Behavioral Health and Health Policy Practice at Westat.

Colleen Warren, M.S. (2018)

  Colleen Warren

Colleen completed her thesis project (Measurement Methods of Dual Tobacco Use Behaviors: Cigarettes and Smokeless Tobacco) in the summer of 2019. She is now a College Admissions Counselor and Adjunct Professor at New River Community & Technical College in Beckley, WV.
